A serious discussion on the issues of nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament is now under way on the international arena, the article notes, and goes on:

The efforts for worldwide nuclear disarmament should not be allowed to play into the hands of the imperialists keen to violate the sovereignty of other countries and achieve their hegemonic aims.

The disarmament desired by the international community is aimed at removing the military threat of the imperialist powers to the weak and small states, defending their sovereignty and dignity and ensuring world peace and security.

The disarmament issue cannot be truly settled in line with humankind's desire for peace as long as the imperialist powers seek their sinister aims by abusing the aspiration and efforts for world disarmament.

The process for true disarmament can be substantially realized only when it is carried out in the direction of respecting the sovereignty of all the countries in the world and establishing equal international relations.

The DPRK will as ever make positive efforts for accelerating the worldwide process for disarmament and realizing the denuclearization of the world.
