Wreaths Laid before Friendship Tower
Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Friendship Tower Sunday on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front.

Participating in the wreath-laying ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Choe Chang Sik, minister of Public Health who is chairman of the Central Committee of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, and others, officials concerned and working people in the city.

On hand were Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.

Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music wreaths were laid before the Friendship Tower in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK, in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of People's Security, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Culture, in the joint name of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Central Committee of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, in the joint name of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK and the Pyongyang City People's Committee and in the name of the Chinese embassy here and the Central Committee of the Association of Chinese Residents in Korea.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the fallen fighters of the CPV who entered into the Korean front and bravely fought before going round the tower.

On the same day wreaths were laid before the cemetery of fallen fighters of the CPV in Hyongjesan District in the joint name of the Hyongjesan District Committee of Pyongyang City of the WPK and the Hyongjesan District People's Committee, in the name of a unit of the Korean People's Army and in the name of the Chinese embassy here and the Central Committee of the Association of Chinese Residents in Korea.
