The soul of martyr An Jung Gun calls upon the fellow countrymen to a drive for the independent and peaceful reunification.

The atrocities the Japanese imperialists committed by trampling down upon the inviolable territory of Korea and imposing the unspeakable misfortune and sufferings upon the Korean nation are touching off bitter resentment among all the fellow countrymen even today though 100 years have passed.

To force the Japanese imperialists to settle all the crimes committed by them in the past is an important task of the Korean nation to defend the independent dignity and honor of the nation with 5000 year-long brilliant history and culture.

It is necessary to resolutely counter Japan's distortion of history and militarist attempt by the concerted efforts of the nation.

We set the period from Oct. 26, the centenary of the patriotic deed of martyr An Jung Gun, to March 26, 2010, the centenary of his martyrdom, as the "period of anti-Japanese joint struggle in memory of martyr An Jung Gun" and call upon all the fellow countrymen to turn out in the struggle for demanding Japan's apology and reparation.

But the Korean nation has not yet put an end to the tragic division forced by foreign forces though more than 60 years have passed since the Japanese imperialists' defeat.
