Unexpected Rest Order

Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- It was on an early spring day of Juche 27 (1938) when the main unit of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was crossing the Songhuajiang while advancing to the Changbai area on the River Amnok under the command of President Kim Il Sung. A guerilla slipped down a wooden bridge into flowing water to be drenched. His clothes were frozen stiff in a moment. However, he hurriedly followed the marching ranks without showing any sign of being cold. Informed of this, the President felt his clothes and asked him whether he was injured. Listening to his reply that he could march along with the ranks, the President said that then he would be frostbitten, and ordered the unit to have a rest and make a campfire. The guerilla, thinking that if he put off his clothes to dry, it would take more time, suggested that he would dry himself in clothes. The President said that if doing so, he would take burns and stripped his clothes off and wrapped him with a blanket. The President's rest order for his man in wet clothes is a token of many stories reflecting his paternal love. |
