The race was participated in by more than 160 men and women marathoners from over 30 sports teams in the capital and local areas.

They, who left the Kim Il Sung Stadium, ran a distance of 42 kilometers, via the Arch of Triumph, the Pothong Gate, Chollima Street, the Sunhwagang Bridge and the turn near the boundary between Pyongyang and South Phyongan Province.

Han Yun Chol (male) and Ro Un Ok (female) of the April 25 Sports Team won gold medals in the race.
