They put on the stage chorus "Sentinels on the Defence Line a Thousand-ri away Offer Morning Salute to the Supreme Commander," dialogic poem "Love Prevalent at the Post" and Oungum ensemble "The Blue Sky over My Country" and other colorful numbers of various genres.

The performers enthusiastically sang of the blessed worthy life as soldiers under the loving care of Kim Jong Il and strikingly demonstrated the might of the heroic Korean People's Army which has grown to be an invincible revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu and its firm faith and will to devotedly safeguard the headquarters of the revolution as a fortress and shield and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche with arms.

As the performance was over, Kim Jong Il waved back to the enthusiastically cheering performers and audience and congratulated the servicepersons on their successful performance.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the servicepersons of the companies staged a splendid performance with numbers distinct in the political stand and perfect in the ideological contents and in artistry and extended high appreciation and thanks to them for their successful presentation.

All the servicepersons are not only firmly prepared as staunch fighters intensely loyal to the party, the leader, the motherland and the people but have grown to be creators of soldier culture in the era of Songun as they are possessed of a high level of morality and cultural attainment, he noted, adding that the best socialist system centered on the popular masses in the DPRK is invincible as its defence line is guarded by these elite armed forces like an invulnerable iron wall.

Noting that the 33rd art festival of KPA servicepersons which was held before full houses clearly proved the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy on popularizing the art, he extended a warm salute to all the participants who fully displayed the mental power and collective spirit of the KPA by participating in the festival with great enthusiasm.

The glorious history of our revolution which was started and has advanced with songs proves a great victory of the policy on music as it clearly testified to the might of art, he said, setting forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for further developing the popular performing activities which represent one of the important means for boosting the combat capabilities of the units.

Among the audience were KPA Vice Marshal Kim Yong Chun, vice-chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and minister of the People's Armed Forces, KPA General Kim Jong Gak, member of the NDC of the DPRK and first vice-director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, KPA General Ri Yong Ho, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, KPA Generals Kim Won Hong, Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su, KPA Col. General Han Tong Gun and other commanding officers of the KPA, and Secretaries of the WPK Central Committee Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam and its department directors and first vice department directors and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee.
