Centenary of Birth of Kim Il Sung to Be Observed

Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- An Asia-Pacific regional preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung was inaugurated in Pakistan on Oct. 17 and a Slovak preparatory committee for commemorating the anniversary was formed in Bratislava on Oct. 20. At the inaugurating ceremony, Madav Kumar Nepal, prime minister of Nepal, was elected honorary chairman of the Asia-Pacific regional preparatory committee. The preparatory committee is co-chaired by Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister of Cambodia in charge of the Royal Palace, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, minister of Mass Communication and Promotion of Investment of Sri Lanka who doubles as chairman of the Sri Lanka-People's Korea Friendship Association, Mian Raja Labani, deputy secretary general of the Pakistan People's Party and senator of the Pakistani parliament, P. Shiv Shankar, chairman of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, and the chairperson of the National Guidance Council of the Vanguard Party of Indonesia. The chairman of the Slovak Association for Supporting the Juche Idea was elected chairman of the Slovak preparatory committee. The inaugurating ceremony of the Asia-Pacific regional preparatory committee adopted an appeal to national and regional preparatory committees for commemorating the centenary of birth of The appeal called for actively staging various activities for lauding the immortal life and exploits of It called for taking an active part in various functions including "International Joint Meeting for Commemorating the Centenary of Kim Il Sung’s Korea" to be held in the DPRK in 2012 to make a tangible contribution to the efforts to ensure that the history of the President remains shining forever. The Slovak committee decided to hold various political and cultural events such as round-table talks and lectures till the Day of the Sun in 2012 with a view to widely introducing the Juche idea founded by Kim Il Sung and the reality of the DPRK wining one victory after another under the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. |
