Only when the confrontation between the north and the south is brought to an end is it possible to defuse the military tension and achieve national reconciliation and unity. If the inter-Korean relations turn into those of confidence and reconciliation from those of mistrust and confrontation, there will be an atmosphere favorable for national reconciliation and cooperation.

The Koreans should not allow under any circumstances any foreign force's attempt to interfere in the issue of the inter-Korean relations and realize its aggressive and hegemonic ambition. They are fully capable of solving their issues by themselves as required by their will and wishes and this was proved in practice in the June 15 era of reunification.

Any attempt to shun from the undertaking to improve the inter-Korean relations and shelve it cannot be construed otherwise than an artifice to perpetuate the national division and pursue the confrontation between the north and the south. This practice will leave an indelible stain on the history of the nation after being branded as treachery.

All the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should give momentum to the atmosphere of reconciliation and inject fresh energy into the movement for reunification and thus put further spurs to the process to improve the inter-Korean relations.
