A watch bearing the august name of President Kim Il Sung was awarded to Kim Jong Sik, deputy director of a department of the Korean Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, and a citation of General Secretary Kim Jong Il to Kim Jong Su, director of a department of the commission.

The title of People's Sportsman went to Chief Coach Kim Jong Hun and 15 others and the title of Merited Sportsman to player Ji Yun Nam and two others.

The Order of National Flag first class was conferred upon a person and the same order second class upon eight persons. Orders and medals also went to many other players and officials.
