The historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are the patriotic reunification programmes for meeting the requirements and interests common to the nation.

The June 15 joint declaration deals with issues of achieving national reunification independently in the spirit of "By our nation itself."

The October 4 declaration clarifies the practical ways of definitely turning the inter-Korean relations into those of respect and confidence, putting an end to the military confrontation and building a lasting peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula on the basis of the reconfirmation of the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

The implementation of the inter-Korean declarations is an unavoidable task of the times that should be implemented to meet the requirements and interests of the Korean nation in all fields.

The validity and vitality of the said declarations have been proved in reality.

The major projects for economic cooperation between the north and the south have got up steam again thanks to the north's magnanimity and they are supported and hailed by different circles of the south Korean society.

It has become an irresistible trend of the times to dynamically turn out to implement the inter-Korean declarations for the reconciliation and unity of the north and the south and national reunification.

It is a behavior guided by national conscience to put the interests common to the nation before those of an individual or a grouping and it is a wise attitude of any person in authority or a politician to know how to subordinate a trifle to something big, aware of the trend of the times.
