The Songun idea, on the exposition that the People's Army is the main force of the revolution, has further developed and enriched the principle of the Juche idea on the driving force of the revolution.

The Juche idea elucidates that the driving force of the revolution consists not of mere masses but of the leader, Party and people and it is not a technical cohesion but an integral whole in which they are firmly united in an organizational way with one ideology and will and with moral obligation.

The Songun idea expounds that the revolutionary army is the core unit of the popular masses and the powerful main force which pushes ahead with the revolution and construction in the van and that the army plays the kernel role in this unity.

The principle of the Juche idea on the driving force of the revolution has developed in depth as a principle that it is the purest and solid integral whole of the popular masses centering on the Party and the leader with the army as nucleus. The reality has displayed its vitality to the full.

The people armed with the idea and spirit of the People's Army have nothing to fear even though they should undergo manifold trials like the "Arduous March" and forced march. It is the truth of history that the Korean people have grasped while waging a struggle with the Songun revolutionary theory of the WPK as the powerful weapon.

The entire army and all the people of Korea will strive harder for the construction of a great, prosperous and powerful socialist country with the ideology and theory of the WPK on the driving force of the revolution in the Songun era as the treasured sword.
