It is an unpardonable traitorous act of denying great national unity to pursue confrontation, flattering and yielding to foreign forces.

In order to achieve the great unity of the whole nation based on the principle of national independence all members of the nation should firmly arm themselves with the spirit of independence.

The consciousness of national independence serves as ideological might which makes a nation strong and a country prosperous whereas flunkeyism and the idea of depending on foreign forces are nothing but ideological poisoning making a nation servile and spiritless. It is a bitter lesson the Koreans drew through the long distress-torn history of Korea that flunkeyism and dependence upon foreign forces lead to a national ruin.

It is an important way of achieving the great national unity to reject flunkeyism and dependence upon foreign forces and resolutely struggle against outsiders' aggression and interference.

All Koreans in the north and the south and overseas should wage a nationwide struggle against foreign domination and interference, holding high the banner of national independence, in order to eradicate the root cause of obstructing national unity and the reunification of the country. It is also necessary to wage a positive struggle against the confrontation-minded elements standing in the way of national unity and reunification in league with foreign forces, utterly indifferent to the destiny of the country and the nation.

All Koreans should wage a more dynamic struggle for great national unity and the reunification of the country in the idea of "By our nation itself," the embodiment of the principle of national independence, holding high the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, urges the article.
