George Maxwell Richard, President of Trinidad and Tobago, said this when receiving credentials from the DPRK ambassador to his country on Nov. 5.

He noted he came to get a clear understanding of the policy of the DPRK government for the reunification of Korea and its strenuous efforts to achieve it and its stand on the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

He appreciated the sincere efforts made by the DPRK government for the reunification of the country under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il and hoped that the reunification of Korea would be achieved independently and peacefully in line with the declarations adopted by the north and the south of Korea.

The government of Trinidad and Tobago expresses the hope for boosting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in various domains including politics, economy and culture, he added.
