It says:

The Japanese militarists paint the wars of aggression started by them in the past as "ones for liberation" and for bringing "independence and prosperity" to Asian countries. They went the lengths of running the whole gamut of nonsense that the Japanese imperialists' invasion of Korea was "legal" from the viewpoint at that time and it "helped" modernize it.

Their wrong outlook and viewpoint are fully reflected in the new history textbooks.

They also went the lengths of letting loose balderdash that the International Military Tribunal for the Far East was an "illegal one as it was held under the situation where Japan was under foreign occupation" and the top war criminals were, therefore, not "guilty".

What merits a serious attention is that all the acts of distorting history were perpetrated in Japan with the involvement of the government or at its tacit connivance and under its patronage.

Lurking behind the above-said acts is an awful wild ambition. What is happening in Japan to tamper with history at present is, in essence, aimed at extolling militarism and repeating its past crimes.

The Japanese reactionaries are set to launch overseas aggression in real earnest. They are working hard to regain the right of belligerency and the right to participate in a war and go mad with war exercises while beefing up their armed forces for aggression. Practices to distort the history serve the purpose of backing these maneuvers for aggression ideologically and morally.

The Japanese reactionaries' distortion of history is as foolish an act as precipitating their self-destruction. A history can neither be written off by denial nor can it be altered because of distortion.
