Only when the north and the south pool will and intention for the sake of reunification and reenergize the cooperation and exchange in line with the common interests and demand of the nation, is it possible to pave the way for national reunification irrespective of the differing ideology and system.

All the Koreans at home and overseas have striven hard to implement the north-south declarations despite the obstructions on the part of the separatist forces inside and outside south Korea. This clearly testifies to the tremendous attraction and vitality of the idea of "By our nation itself".

It is beyond any doubt that a wide avenue will be opened for independent reunification, peace and prosperity when the inter-Korean relations are definitely converted into the ties aimed at national reunification in the spirit of "By our nation itself".

South Korea should make a switchover in its anachronistic policy of confrontation towards compatriots, defuse confrontation and tension by pursuing a policy of alliance and reconciliation with the north and take practical measures for radically improving the inter-Korean relations.

All Koreans desirous of national reunification should intensify the patriotic struggle for reunification, solidarizing and uniting with each other in the idea of "By our nation itself" irrespective of the differing ideology, system, political view and religious faith, urges the article.
