South-South Cooperation Called for
Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- The South-South cooperation provides developing countries with one of the basic ways to overcome the present difficulties and establish a new fair and equal international economic order, observes Rodong Sinmun Saturday in a signed article.

It goes on:

The boosted South-South cooperation makes it possible to put an end to the imperialists' neo-colonial exploitation and plunder and bring about a fundamental switchover in the economic relations with the developed countries.

Of course, the developing countries still have a lot of weak points in their economies. But when they boost mutual cooperation and exchange on the principle of collective self-reliance, their economies will remarkably grow stronger and this will give impetus to the establishment of the new international economic order and the economic development in the developing countries.

The boosted South-South cooperation will help the developing countries increase their might and roles as it will contribute to strengthening friendship and unity among them.

The relations among the developing countries will become closer than ever before if they boost cooperation and exchange in different fields, complementing one another.

If the developing countries unite close politically, closely cooperating with one another in economy and technology on the above-said principle and thus stand up against the old international economic order through their joint struggle, the imperialists will find themselves in a tight corner as they cannot survive without exploiting and plundering the above-mentioned countries and this will create a favorable environment for establishing a new international economic order.

The more positively the developing countries boost the South-South cooperation, the faster the process for establishing the new international economic order will become and the more rapidly their struggle for independent development and prosperity will advance in the new century, concludes the article.
