Full Play to Spirit of Self-Reliance and Fortitude Called for
Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Saturday editorially calls upon all the people to wage a dynamic drive for winning victory in the 100-day campaign under the uplifted banner of self-reliance, single-mindedly united around the headquarters of the revolution headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The mental power to display self-reliance and fortitude serves as a powerful ideological and moral weapon for the Korean people who have covered a victorious and glorious road under the steersmanship of the great leader and the great party, the editorial says, and goes on:

Very vast is our task to reach the high eminence of a thriving nation and there are not a few things in short supply for us. But there is nothing impossible for us when we undertake everything, believing in our own efforts.

We have the single-minded unity as all the people are united as one around the party, the mental power strong enough to turn everything impossible into something possible, the advantageous socialist system and the firm foundation of the self-supporting economy that has grown solid despite stern trials. We can proudly enter the gate to a thriving nation when we work our own way, giving full play to our political and ideological might and relying on our economic potential.

The on-going 100-day campaign is the last charge to glorify this year as a year of the great turn to be specially recorded in the nation's history. Its great significance lies in that it is an offensive to win a greater victory in the next year, the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea, and lay a springboard from which to enter the gate to a thriving nation in 2012. There is no other way but to rely on our own efforts in order to bring about a turning point in the drive for building a thriving nation this year without fail. Self-reliance guarantees a victory in the on-going general offensive and a rosy future of a thriving nation.

Kim Jong Il's faith in independence, rare grit and persevering spirit of forced march serve as an engine encouraging the servicepersons and the people of the DPRK to display the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude to the fullest extent, concludes the editorial.
