Rodong Sinmun Thursday says this in a signed article.

It goes on:

The U.S. imperialist aggressor forces' presence in south Korea and their daily intensifying moves for a war of aggression against the DPRK are the main factor of disturbing peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.

The article cites facts to prove that during their more than six decades-long presence in south Korea the U.S. forces have staged war exercises almost every day, threatening peace on the Korean Peninsula and bringing the situation to the brink of war.

The article notes:

The U.S. warlike forces remain unchanged in the above-said moves. This is evidenced by the fact that the U.S. military which once staged a drama in a bid to create impression that it intended to shift the 8th Army Command of the U.S. forces to Hawaii from south Korea, but it gave up that hypocritical drama and decided to keep it in south Korea as it was and set up the US KORECOM, a new mechanism for a war of aggression against the DPRK.

The military provocations and above-mentioned war moves of the south Korean warmongers in league with foreign forces constitute another factor of escalating the tension on the peninsula and seriously threatening the peace and security there.

They are now putting spurs to the restructuring of the overall armed forces, the development of up-to-date war equipment and introduction of weapons and equipment from abroad, crying out for "acquiring the capability for independently carrying out war." They perpetrated a serious armed provocation in the waters of the West Sea some days ago.

The above-said moves of the U.S. and south Korean militaries are dangerous developments as they vitiate the atmosphere of dialogue, disturb the peace and security on the peninsula and put the danger of war of aggression against the DPRK into extremes.

No ever-more reckless moves on the part of the warlike forces at home and abroad to ignite a nuclear war at any cost quite contrary to the trend of the times toward detente and peace can ever hold in check the dynamic advance of the Koreans to achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, stresses the article.
