DPRK Book, Photo, Handicraft Exhibition Held in Russia
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- A DPRK book, photo and handicraft exhibition was held in Russia from Oct. 30 to Nov. 13 on the occasions of the 18th anniversary of General Secretary
Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 83rd anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

Displayed in the venue of the function were books and photos introducing Songun Korea and Korean handicrafts.

Speeches were made at its opening ceremony.

A. Damzinov, deputy prime minister of the Republic of Bryatia who doubles as its minister of Social Development, said that the exhibition would provide people of Bryatia with an opportunity to witness at first hand the spirit of the resourceful and intelligent Korean people and renew the impression of the DPRK, adding that he would make positive efforts to ensure that such exhibition would be held in the future, too.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Ulan-Ude noted that the Russia-DPRK relations of friendship and cooperation have reached a high level under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries, expressing his belief that it would grow stronger in the future.

N. Boronoyeva, curator of the Art Gallery Named after Sampilov, said going round the DPRK exhibition, the first of its kind since its founding, she felt the impulse to know more about the DPRK and see it for herself.

The exhibition drew a large crowd of people of Bryatia while it was under way.
