Kim in the message noted that the Lao government and people have achieved great successes in their struggle to defend the revolutionary gains and develop the national economy under the unerring leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party over the past 34 years since the founding of the republic.

He hoped that the Lao people would make greater progress in achieving the prosperity and development of the country by implementing the decision of the 8th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and expressed belief that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger in the common struggle for socialism against imperialism.
