KCNA Blasts S. Korea's Anti-DPRK "Human Rights" Racket

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- South Korea is now disturbed by a frantic "human rights" racket. Its puppets are busy with the moves to formally adopt a "law on human rights in north Korea" at the session of the "National Assembly" by setting in motion the "Grand National Party", the "Liberal Progressive Party" and other ultra-right conservative political parties in the wake of their ramming of the "bill on human rights in north Korea" through the "Sub-Committee for Examination of Bills of the National Assembly" on Nov. 27. The above-said farce clearly proves that the smear anti-DPRK human rights campaign of the puppet clique of south Korea has reached a graver phase. Shortly ago, the puppets became one of the co-sponsors of a "resolution on human rights in north Korea" at the UN, toeing the line of foreign forces. By getting the "law on human rights in north Korea" adopted they seek to escalate the anti-DPRK human rights campaign. This is an intolerable insult and unpardonable politically motivated provocation to the DPRK as it is a revelation of the ambition of traitors to the nation to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK because they are steeped in it to the marrow of their bones. They are the arch criminals who have reduced south Korea to a land with the world's worst human rights record. It is, therefore, preposterous for them to talk about the "human rights" issue of someone. The "human rights" issue does not exist under the dignified socialist system in the DPRK where the popular masses fully enjoy an independent life as a full-fledged master of the state and society with all kinds of political freedom and rights substantially guaranteed. It is, therefore, absolutely ludicrous for the puppets to let loose the above-said rhetoric. Since the emergence of the present "government" fascist dictatorship has been revived in south Korea, turning it into a dark society deprived of elementary democratic freedom and rights and a tundra of human rights where dictatorship and suppression prevail. New fascist repressive machines have been set up and the existing ones reinforced. Politically motivated investigations have been intensified and evil laws retrogressively revised. Patriotic democratic forces have been systematically suppressed and the crackdown upon the progressive media has been intensified and even people's protest actions for the right to existence have become targets of merciless suppression. It is by no means fortuitous that the international community terms south Korea a "land with the worst human rights record." Finding themselves in a serious ruling crisis for having committed the above-said human rights abuses, escalated the inter-Korean confrontation and enforced fascist dictatorship, the puppet clique is now seeking a way out of it in the anti-DPRK "human rights" racket. The ultra-right conservative forces of south Korea are escalating the confrontation with fellow countrymen over human rights issue, pushing the north-south relations to an uncontrollable catastrophe. This is a challenge to the magnanimous and sincere efforts of the DPRK to improve the north-south relations. It is an unpardonable and grave hostile act for them to go mad with an anti-DPRK smear campaign under the pretext of human rights. It is impossible to expect any improvement in the north-south relations as long as the anti-reunification forces in south Korea go frantic with the moves to escalate confrontation with the DPRK, swimming against the trend of the times. |
