Entries into the contest included more than 30 programs developed by ace teams from various countries and regions including the DPRK, Japan, the United States and France.

Young scientists of the DPRK upgraded the level of the go program this time; they made the core module of their program in Korean-style and independently set up the process of simultaneous search and scatter format process, etc. requiring high technology.

The KCC go program beat with an overwhelming edge the best programs presented by teams of various other countries which used high-performance large computers even under the unfavorable situation where its developers were barred from participating in the contest due to the Japanese reactionaries' hostile policy toward the DPRK and only ordinary computers had to be used for their program.

Thus the KCC go program of the DPRK has retained the title of the international go program contest for the seventh time.
