Impressive Story Associated with Side Dishes

Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- One day in December, Juche 48 (1959) President Kim Il Sung called at the Changjon Grocery in Central District, Pyongyang, Making a stop in front of the seasoning counter, he found no red pepper, a favorite one of the Korean people, on sale. He said that ground red pepper was a good seasoning and red pepper leaves, fried or just seasoned, were considered a good dish and that the Korean ancestors had been fond of pickles. He continued to say that a variety of spices should be prepared to suit the taste of the Korean people and supplied to them. Implied in his instructions was his intention to provide the people with more tasty side dishes, preserving the national tradition and customs. |
