Stop to Project for "River Improvement" Urged in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- The All-People Measure Committee for Checking the Project of Destroying Four Large Rivers and Protecting Them for Life in south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on Tuesday in which it demanded an immediate stop to the project for "improving four large rivers", according to MBC of south Korea. The organization referred to the fact that the "Grand National Party" is nowadays rushing the "deliberation on budget" related to the project at the "National Assembly". The above-said project, pushed ahead by the authorities, will end in failure without any help for improving the water quality, preventing flood damage and so forth just as in the case of the "restoration of Chonggye Stream", it warned. It demanded that the NA make an investigation into the deeds of destroying environment, instead of "deliberating on budget". |
