The joint statement said:

The concrete wall, a leftover of the Korean division, is still standing, touching off strong rebuff and towering resentment among the world progressive people aspiring after the independent reunification of Korea.

The statement bitterly denounced the anti-reunification and treacherous acts of the U.S., the sworn enemy of the Korean people, and the south Korean authorities who are twisting the truth of the concrete wall dividing Korea into the north and the south and keeping it still today despite the unanimous rebuff and condemnation of the world public circles.

It went on:

The U.S. should admit the stark existence of the concrete wall and feel full responsibility for the division of Korea.

We strongly urge the U.S. to roll back its anachronistic policy aimed to perpetuate the division of Korea by escalating the confrontation with compatriots at any cost and the south Korean authorities to make a bold decision to dismantle the concrete wall.

We call upon the political parties, governments and organizations of the world aspiring after Korea's reunification to expose and denounce the U.S. and the south Korean authorities' anti-reunification policy aimed at perpetuating the division and escalating the confrontation while keeping the concrete wall still today though three decades have passed since its construction, exercise their influence on them so that it may be pulled down as early as possible and powerfully support and encourage the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people in their struggle to achieve the independent reunification of the country under the banner of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
