Japan Urged to Make Apology for Its Past Crimes
Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The International Solidarity Council Demanding Settlement of Japan's Past released an appeal to the governments, parliaments, organizations and peoples of different countries on December 8, 68 years since Japan started the Pacific War.

Aged victims are still conducting a campaign urging the Japanese government to make a sincere apology and proper reparation for Japan's past crimes in different parts of the world, but Japan is making sinister efforts to justify the history of aggression and crimes, inviting rebuff and ridicule of the international community, the appeal noted, and continued:

2010 will mark the lapse of 65 years since the defeat of the Japanese imperialists and the centenary of the fabrication of the illegal "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty". Japan should make an apology to the victims for its past war crimes and the human rights abuses, stop distorting its history and formally pay reparation to the countries and people that fell victim to them and the bereaved families as early as possible as urged by the international community.

Noting that the said council would boost the world-wide solidarity in the struggle to have the above-said demands met in the future, too, the appeal called upon the governments, parliaments, organizations and peoples of different countries to extend positive support and encouragement to it.
