He looked round the heat and hydraulic machine research room, the metal engineering laboratory, the comprehensive analytical laboratory, the IT operation room, the E-library and other places of the university to acquaint himself in detail with education and scientific researches there.

He highly appreciated the successes made by the teachers of the university, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they have created an excellent environment for education as required by the developing reality and brought about a fresh turn in teaching and education and scientific researches.

The teachers including professors and doctors of the university who are intensely loyal to the party and the revolution are the reliable intellectuals who have single-mindedly supported the revolutionary cause of Juche with science and technology, he said, adding that the country has a rosy future as such revolutionary and militant intellectuals are standing firm on the front of education.

He advanced important tasks which would serve as guidelines for developing the university.

He underscored the need for the university to train in a brief span of time more scientists and technicians possessed of a high technical level to solve immediate issues arising in putting the national economy on a Juche-oriented, modern and scientific basis and, at the same time, widely explore new scientific and technological fields of weighty importance in the development of the nation's mining and metal industries to make a positive contribution to significantly developing the nation's overall science and technology.

He called for turning the university into a model university having an impeccable appearance as a university of technology and again showed loving care for it.
