Present there were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League and the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and youth and students and agricultural workers.

The reporters and speakers said that Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the revolutionary armed forces made it possible to steadily advance the Juche-oriented cause of army building started by President Kim Il Sung and invariably carry forward the tradition of the Korean revolution which emerged victorious thanks to Songun.

Kim Jong Il built the People's Army into vanguard ranks devotedly defending the leader and a matchless and invincible revolutionary army with his outstanding ideas and theories and distinguished military wisdom and ever-victorious commanding art, thus putting the Juche-oriented cause of army building on new higher stage, they noted, adding:

The dignity and spirit of Juche Korea were demonstrated to the world and spectacular successes have been made in the drive for building a great prosperous and powerful nation against the backdrop of a new great surge under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

They stressed the need to perform honorable feats in the great drive for building a thriving nation and thus make substantial contributions to accomplishing the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche.
