On this occasion the servicepersons and people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are looking back upon the feats he performed in inspecting tens of army units this year.

Entering the New Year he visited a tank division honored with the title of the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment and offered congratulations to its tankmen, before he inspected several units under the Artillery Command of the KPA to see gun firing drills full of invincible spirit and power. And he spent the army day in the headquarters of a unit with its servicepersons.

One day he congratulated pilots of an air force unit on their successful trainings and another day he warmly greeted seamen of a combined navy unit coming back from the sea after watching their maneuvers.

When he visited the command of a combined unit he instructed its officers to pay a primary attention to ideological work, and when he inspected the command of a division stationed in the east of the front he said that all the units should learn from the example shown by the unit in having built residential quarters suitable for the life of revolutionary army officers and introduced methane gas devices into all the new houses.

Various military universities including Kim Il Sung Political University were also visited by him and received important tasks they should fulfill in training backbones of the KPA. The culture of the army in the Songun era has further developed with art performances of soldiers, families of servicepersons and art groups of different army units appreciated by him.

He met with soldier builders who performed feats in socialist construction and participants in the meeting of exemplary frontline soldiers of the KPA and the meeting of active non-commissioned army officers to have photos taken with them.

Indeed, thanks to the energetic Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il over the army all year long, the dignity of the country and sovereignty of the nation have been guaranteed definitely and the socialist system of Korea has become an invincible fortress.
