Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- Fine art institutions of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have made imitations of historic remains and relics to be exhibited at Pyongyang Folk Park, which is now under construction at the foot of picturesque Mt. Taesong. The imitations represent typical historic remains and relics belonging to the period from Ancient Korea (early 30th century B.C.-108 B.C.) to Ri Dynasty (1392-1910). Among them are those of Buddhist images, mural paintings and Buddhist donation boxes and wood blocks belonging to the period of Koguryo (277 B.C.-668 A.D.) Typical of the images are the Pulguk Temple's two gilt-bronze ones characterized by a high molding skill, well-molded balanced figure and polished representation. A large mural painting representing a procession in King Kogukwon's mausoleum has already been finished and portraits of Tangun, Ko Ju Mong, Wang Kwon and other founders of kingdoms, autographs of An Jung Gun, Kim Ok Gyun, Han Sok Bong, Kim Jong Hui and other historical personages, wall painting "Farm Life" and folding screen "Wild Geese in Moonlight" as well as Buddhist fixtures to be placed in temples in the park are near completion. The project also includes some 1,000 pieces of brassware, daggers including pipha-shaped ones, Angbu Ilgu (sundial) and iron-made rain gauge which were made in Korea in the first half of the 15th century, monument to the great victory in a battle in a northern area of Korea and monument to the great victory in a battle in Yonsong (fort in Yonan). |
