The statement recalled that the south Korean authorities built the concrete wall under the patronage of the U.S. seeking to divide Korea into two parts for an indefinite period.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration make it possible to pull down the concrete wall at an early date and realize the desire of all Koreans in the north and the south for national reconciliation and cooperation, peace and prosperity, it stressed.

The statement strongly urged the U.S. and the south Korean authorities to demolish the concrete wall, saying that the association, together with the peace-loving progressive people, expresses solidarity with the just cause of the Korean people.
