The confrontational policy of the south Korean authorities is the main source causing antipathy and discord among Koreans and barring the inter-Korean relations from being developed as it stokes bitterness toward fellow countrymen.

It is self-evident that the relationship between the north and the south can never make smooth progress unless south Korea makes a fundamental switchover in its treacherous "policy towards the north," which regards fellow countrymen as enemy and aggravates the inter-Korean confrontation.

It is impossible to achieve national reconciliation and unity as well as the north-south cooperation and exchange nor is it possible to expect development of the national reunification movement as long as the south Korean authorities are allowed to keep pursuing the "policy towards the north," which obstructs the improvement of the national reunification movement against the desire of people for reunification through alliance with the north.

It is a mockery and deception of the public opinion at home and abroad demanding the improvement of the north-south relations for the south Korean ruling forces to stubbornly insist on the traitorous "policy towards the north" and make a fuss about the so-called "dialogue" and "sincerity."

All the Koreans hope to see the relationship between the north and the south to make a fresh development as genuine relations between fellow countrymen. To this end, it is necessary for south Korea to have anachronistic "policy towards the north" certainly withdrawn as it pushed the inter-Korean relations to a catastrophe.
