Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard:

This is an unpardonable provocation to the DPRK and an intolerable criminal act of escalating the inter-Korean confrontation and tensions.

Through these farces the south Korean rulers seek to extol the U.S. which ignited the Korean war and other imperialist aggressor forces and kick off the racket of confrontation with the DPRK worldwide while justifying their criminal start of the war pursuant to its war scenario. They are, indeed, a bandit of despicable traitors and warmongers.

The above-said "defense guidelines" are, in essence, a dangerous document for aggression aimed at unleashing a war for aggression against the north under the signboard of "defense".

The DPRK will never remain an onlooker to the frantic moves stepped up by the south Korean warmongers to launch a war, inciting an atmosphere of confrontation with foreign forces quite contrary to the trend of the times toward dialogue and peace.

Their repeated provocations to the DPRK are as foolish as digging their own graves.

If the south Korean authorities keep escalating the tensions and the danger of war while laying a hurdle in the way of improving the inter-Korean relations through rackets of confrontation and war despite our warnings, they will have to pay dearly for them.
