Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard: This is an adventurous move to ignite the second Korean war.

The said guidelines call for deploying the U.S. reinforcing combat forces in "contingency" on the peninsula and providing conditions for the stable presence of the U.S. forces in south Korea, etc.

The moves stepped up by the U.S. together with south Korea to work out the guidelines amount to criminal actions to put into concrete shape and codify the deployment of the U.S. reinforcements in operational theatres, south Korea's logistic support pursuant to them and joint operations of the U.S. forces and the south Korean army in "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula.

If the U.S. goes ahead with its moves to unleash another Korean war while tightening the military alliance with south Korea as now, this will result in further deteriorating the DPRK-U.S. hostile relations and trigger off a grave military conflict in the end. This is what the U.S. wishes to see.

The U.S. loudmouthed "military threat" from the DPRK is nothing but sophism to justify its hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The above-said moves compel the DPRK to take strong military retaliatory measures. The DPRK stands for detente and peace on the Korean Peninsula but cannot remain a passive onlooker to the U.S. dangerous scenario to do harm to the former.

The army and people of the DPRK will do their utmost to increase the national defence capability under the banner of Songun in order to frustrate the evermore desperate moves of the U.S. to stifle it.
