To bring about a radical turn in improving the people's standard of living by giving spurs to the development of light industry and agriculture is a worthwhile work to translate into reality the Party's noble intention to enable the Korean people to live as well as others, the editorial says, and goes on:

The present sweeping campaign to bring about a decisive turn in improving the people's standard of living by accelerating the development of light industry and agriculture is sure to emerge victorious.

When we give full play to the productive potentials already built by holding on to the Party's policies of light industrial and agricultural revolution, a great turn will be brought about in improving the people's standard of living.

An all-Party and nationwide efforts should be concentrated on the drive for putting spurs to the development of light industry and agriculture once again.

We should concentrate all our efforts on decisively boosting the light industry and agriculture, deeply mindful that to improve the people's standard of living is not a mere economic and technical work but an important political work to demonstrate the justness of the WPK's cause of implementing the behests of President Kim Il Sung and translating into reality all ideals of the people.
