The successful launch of the satellite Kwangmyongsong-2, the success made in the second underground nuclear test, the perfection of the Juche-based steel-making system, the attainment of the cutting edge of the CNC technology and the firework displays on the Day of the Sun--birthday of President Kim Il Sung--, May Day and the anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea, etc. represented the reality of the DPRK dashing ahead towards a thriving socialist nation, it said, adding:

The main task set forth in the editorial is to dynamically wage an all-Party, nationwide general offensive for the improvement of the people's standard of living on the basis of the laudable victory and success made in the drive for effecting a great revolutionary surge.

The statement expressed belief that the Korean people would implement the tasks set forth in the joint editorial without fail under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
