Otete Gaston Mboyo, chairman of the National Committee of the party, said in the lecture that
Kim Jong Il formulated the Songun politics as the main political mode under socialism.

He went on:

At the end of the last century the world progressives were deeply concerned about the destiny of socialist Korea as socialism collapsed in the Soviet Union and the eastern European countries, President Kim Il Sung demised and it was hit by natural disasters for consecutive years and the imperialist allied forces became undisguised in their moves to stifle it.

It was against this background that Kim Jong Il held aloft the banner of Songun and led the "Arduous March" to victory, thus bringing about a landmark phase in turning the DPRK into a thriving nation.

The KPA has registered world-startling successes in the defence of the country and the socialist construction as a main force for the revolution and the Korean people have firmly defended the socialist fortress of Juche closely rallied as one around Kim Jong Il.

The DPRK is demonstrating as an ideological and military power which no formidable force dares provoke.

The Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il serves as an invincible treasured sword for protecting the sovereignty of the country and achieving the prosperity of the nation as it is a great political mode to be followed by the developing countries.
