The British organizations in the joint statement noted that the joint editorial proudly reviewed the successes gained by the Korean people in building a great prosperous and powerful nation last year.

The credit for these achievements goes to the Songun leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the statement stressed.

The joint editorial called for improving the people's standard of living this year, it said, adding that it is of significance that the DPRK government decided to bring about a radical turn in the improvement of the people's standard of living when the imperialist countries have been troubled with unemployment and deteriorated people's life.

The statement called upon the followers of the Juche idea, the Songun idea, to support the DPRK's joint New Year editorial, expressing firm conviction that the Korean people would carry through the tasks set forth in the joint editorial under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il this year.

The Czech organization in the statement introduced in detail the tasks for improving the people's standard of living and bringing earlier the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea set forth in the joint editorial. And it wished the Korean people greater success in the drive to improve the people's standard of living this year.
