This call is made by Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a signed article.

The present conservative ruling forces of south Korea are desperately pursuing sycophancy toward the U.S., fascist dictatorship and anti-reunification acts and confrontation, while working hard to dampen the daily growing desire of the people for independence, democracy and reunification, the article notes, adding that the reality urgently requires the south Korean people to wage a more courageous mass struggle to realize the above-said desire.

What is most important is to intensify the struggle for independence against the U.S. in south Korea.

Without forcing the U.S. forces to withdraw from south Korea its people can never achieve sovereignty. It is necessary to dynamically wage diverse forms of the anti-U.S. struggle for driving the U.S. imperialist aggression forces out of south Korea and further intensify the struggle for peace against war, the action condemning the U.S. joint military exercises and arms buildup targeted against the DPRK, factors of sparking the danger of a nuclear war.

The south Korean people should launch a mass struggle under the banner of anti-fascism and democracy and thus decisively foil the repressive moves of the dictatorial forces and bury underground the departed soul of the fascists so that they may never raise their heads again.

It is necessary to steadily advance the movement for national reunification under the banner of the inter-Korean declarations.

The organizations of the reunification movement and people of different strata in south Korea should wage a more dynamic struggle to force the south Korean authorities to roll back their policy of confrontation with the DPRK this year marking the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and the 30th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo. It is also necessary to intensify the movement for national reunification with emphasis on supporting the process for improving the inter-Korean relations and stirring up the atmosphere of national reconciliation and cooperation, concludes the article.
