The British organization in its statement on Jan. 6 said that in the DPRK science and technology serve the people, not for exploiting the popular masses, and are used to develop productivity and improve the people's standard of living.

The statement expressed conviction that the Korean people would successfully carry out the tasks laid down in the joint editorial and bring about a fresh turn in building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the Workers' Party of Korea.

Edmond Jouve in the statement on Jan. 8 said that the DPRK, which has already demonstrated its might as a political and ideological and military power, is building a thriving nation whose strength is powerful and where everything is prosperous and the people lead a happy life with nothing to envy by concentrating all efforts on building an economic power to improve the people's standard of living.

We are firmly convinced that the heroic Korean people would successfully attain the magnificent objective set forth in the joint editorial this year, single-mindedly rallied around Kim Jong Il, the statement said.
