The crewmen displayed the spirit of defending the headquarters of the revolution, the heroic self-sacrificing spirit and the revolutionary comradeship in rough wind and waves.

An awarding ceremony took place on Thursday.

The title of Labor Hero and Gold Medal (Hammer and Sickle) and Order of the National Flag 1st Class were conferred on ex-Captain Hong Sun Gyong and ex-Chief Engineer Sin Myong Hwan and Order of the National Flag 1st Class on ex-Electrical Engineer Kim Chang Hae, ex-Boatswain Mun Thae Jin and ex-Mate Jo Kwang Ho. These commendations were conveyed to their bereaved families.

Orders were also awarded to all other crewmen of the ship.
