DPRK FM Statement Supported

Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- The Canar Provincial Institute for the Friendship and Solidarity with DPRK of Ecuador issued a statement on Jan. 18 and S. N. Sserwanga, secretary general of the African Regional Committee of Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People, on Jan. 20 in support of the statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry. The Canar Provincial Institute in the statement said that it hopes to see the imperialists' hostile policy towards the DPRK and their provocations against the latter terminated as well as the present state of war put to an end with the conclusion of a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S. in 2010. The statement pointed out that the institute would positively conduct solidarity activities in support of the peaceful proposal of the DPRK. S. N. Sserwanga, secretary general of the African Regional Committee of Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People, in the statement said that the DPRK Foreign Ministry proposed to the parties to the Armistice Agreement an early start of the talks to replace the Korean Armistice Agreement with a peace treaty this year marking the lapse of 60 years since the outbreak of the Korean war, adding that this proposal is the most reasonable and just measure. Expressing full support for the sincere proposal of the DPRK, he called upon the governments and progressive political parties and organizations of all the countries in the world to express positive solidarity with the proposal. Kamal Hyder, secretary general of the Bangladesh Peace Council, issued a statement on Jan. 20 in support of the statement released by the spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry. He in the statement stressed that the proposal of the DPRK to conclude a peace treaty provides a reasonable way for comprehensively and fully implementing the September 19 Joint Statement. He expressed full support and solidarity with the stand of the DPRK to continue to make sincere efforts to persuade the parties concerned into accepting its realistic proposal based on experience and lesson. |
