Present there were representatives of various organizations of Koreans in the U.S. including the federation and the U.S. Regional Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and other social activists.

Speakers at the lecture asserted that in order to bring peace and prosperity to Northeast Asia including the peninsula it is necessary to put an end to the hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S. and replace the Armistice Agreement by a peace treaty.

What is most important for settling the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula is for the U.S. to roll back its policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK, they noted.

In order to realize reconciliation, reunification and prosperity of the Korean nation all the pro-reunification patriotic forces supporting the June 15 joint declaration should go united to foil the reckless moves of the south Korean authorities for confrontation with the DPRK and implement the inter-Korean joint declarations without fail, they urged.

They appealed to all the Koreans of different strata in the U.S. to frustrate the moves of the anti-reunification conservative forces by their concerted efforts.
