Recalling with deep emotion President Kim Il Sung's undying exploits associated with the history of the unit, he said that the wise leadership and meticulous care of the President helped it grow to be a strong large combined unit made up of combined units and other units of a-match-for-a hundred combatants.

He highly appreciated the unit's merits, saying that it has a history of laudable feats performed in the defence of the country and socialist construction.

After acquainting himself with the unit's performance of duty, he went round an operation study room and a lecture room on military affairs to learn about the training of commanding personnel.

Noting with appreciation that all the servicepersons of the unit have discharged their guard duty in a responsible manner, watching with high vigilance the enemy's moves for aggression, he advanced the important tasks that would serve as guidelines in increasing the combat capability of the unit in every way.

He also made rounds of a servicepersons' hall, a library and other entertainment and cultural facilities to learn in detail about how the political work is conducted among servicepersons.

Very pleased to hear that all the servicepersons of the unit have become avid readers in the course of devouring must books, he said: The revolutionary habit of reading established in the whole army is an unusual feature which can be found only in our army.

Then he went round a bedroom, a mess, a non-staple food store and other supply facilities to take warm care of servicepersons' living.

After learning about the management of the unit, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the unit has kept its interior and exterior neat and clean.

The unit is a model not only in the training but also in the politico-ideological work, the welfare supply service, the unit management and all other aspects, he said, highly praising it as an exemplary unit in the era of Songun which has thoroughly embodied in the work and life the slogan of the Party "Let us train, study and live like anti-Japanese guerrillas!"

He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the unit, expressing expectation and belief that they would creditably discharge their honorable mission as the pillar of the revolution and powerful driving force taking the lead in upholding the Songun leadership of the Party.

He was accompanied by KPA Generals Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su and other commanding officers of the army.
