Kim Jong Il's Birthday to Be Celebrated in DR Congo

| Pyongyang, February 3 (KCNA) -- A preparatory committee for celebrating February 16, the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, was formed in the the Democratic Republic of Congo on Jan. 26. At its inaugural ceremony Mienze Kiaku, deputy secretary general of the People's Party for the Reconstruction and the Democracy of Democratic Congo, was elected honorary chairman of the preparatory committee and Otete Gaston Mboyo, chairman of the National Committee of the Genuine Lumumbist Patriotic Party of Democratic Congo, its chairman. The committee announced a plan for political and cultural events to be held on the occasion of February 16. |
