Crackdown on Pomminryon Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 3 (KCNA) -- The civic and public joint measure committee against the suppression of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) in south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on Jan. 29, slashing at the puppet police crackdown upon the reunification movement forces.

Speakers at the conference recalled that the Pusan District Police Agency issued summons several times for three persons including Ri Kyu Jae, chairman of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon who has been released after being detained on charges of violation of the "National Security Law."

They charged that the police have taken such repressive action for the reason that those persons participated in the rally held in Pusan to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon.

It is the far-fetched assertion to charge their participation in the annual rally again as violation of the NSL, they said.

Through this action, the police openly betrayed an intention to ceaselessly crack down upon the reunification movement forces including the South Headquarters of Pomminryon, they said, urging the police to roll back their repressive measures and stop the unreasonable suppression at once.
