DPRK Holidays to Be Observed in South Africa and India

Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- A preparatory committee for commemorating the Day of the Sun and February 16 was formed in South Africa on Jan. 29 and a national preparatory committee for celebrating February 16 inaugurated in India on Jan. 30.

The secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party and former Foreign Minister of India P. Shiv Shankar, chairman of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, were elected chairmen of those preparatory committees at the inaugural ceremonies.

The South African preparatory committee decided to hold colorful events during the days from Jan. 30 to April 15 while the Indian preparatory committee planned to organize colorful events on the occasion of the February holiday.
