The appeal recalled that the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration called on all the Koreans to adorn this year which marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of the north-south joint declaration as a year of a new phase in independent reunification and a year of a turning point in flinging open the gate to national reunification.

The decade since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration proved that a key to the victory of the Korean nation lies in the idea of "By our nation itself", banner of the great national unity, it said.

It accused the south Korean authorities which stake their fate on outsiders of doggedly pursuing the policy for confrontation with fellow countrymen as evidenced by watchwords of "no nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars" and resorting to dangerous military provocations in order to totally negate the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and stand in the way of national reunification.

It called upon all political parties and social organizations as well as workers, farmers, youth and students and religionists supporting the inter-Korean declarations to wage shoulder to shoulder and in single mind the sacred struggle to wipe out anti-reunification and sycophantic traitors, guided by the idea of "By our nation itself."
