After being briefed on the factory before a huge map showing it, he looked round the vinyl acetate and polymerization shops and other places of the complex for hours to acquaint himself in detail with the construction and production there.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the complex and their helpers have successfully wound up in a short span of time the huge project equivalent to the construction of a large chemical base by their own efforts and with their own technology in hearty response to the intention of the Party to develop the economy their own way and improve the people's standard of living by depending on the nation's economic foundation.

It is an astonishing miracle that the builders have constructed a precious structure of eternal value by their own efforts under so hard conditions by valiantly overcoming bottlenecks and difficulties lying in their way and dedicating their all to the project, he said. He extended high appreciation and thanks to them for having performed the laudable feats for the country and people.

Greatly pleased to watch for a long while vinalon being churned out from a spinning machine in an endless stream, he said with emotion that it has become possible to supply more vinalon fabric to the people and realize the lifelong wish of President Kim Il Sung at last.

The workers of the DPRK were the vanguard fighters who worked heart and soul, thinking only of the interests of the revolution during its arduous periods including those of the postwar rehabilitation and construction and the building of the foundations of socialism, he noted, calling for always living and struggling in the same spirit as displayed by them when building a paradise for the people from scratch.

Noting that the complex has a very important duty and role to perform as it is the one directly linked with the people's life, he advanced the important tasks to be fulfilled by it.

He underscored the need for the complex to deepen the scientific researches into the production of varieties of chemical goods from the vinalon intermediate field and, at the same time, round off the aromatic compound production process to further strengthen the Juche character of chemical industry.

Vinalon and fertilizer are very important for solving the issues of people's food and clothing, he said, calling upon the officials, workers and technicians of the February 8 Vinalon Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex to keep their production going at a high rate and pay deep attention to the work to develop their complexes under a long-term plan, deeply aware of their missions.
