Santiago Ngua Nfumu, first deputy general secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea and vice-minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to hold colorful political and cultural events on the occasions of the Day of the Sun and the February holiday.
